Islington Council and Peabody are committed to delivering a landmark Women’s Building at Holloway Park and commissioned a feasibility study in April 2023. This building will offer a range of services to support women. This study combined a mix of analysis and engagement to inform recommendations for the future of the building. There was a clear demand for a mix of services and activities to operate from the building. The feasibility study can be found in our planning documents here Holloway Park Community: Useful Information
Analysis of data relating to women’s experience of the criminal justice system and case studies into existing women’s centres
A variety of methods were used to engage with service providers, community representatives and women with lived experience. Over 70 organisations were engaged in the process.
The report contains recommendations for what type of services are most in demand for the building and the type of facilities needed in the building.
The feasibility study is now informing the tender documents for the Women’s Building Operator. Peabody will be procuring an operator for the Women’s Building in Spring 2024.
