What is domestic retrofit?

Retrofitting is improving an existing building to increase energy efficiency and reduce waste.

Understanding retrofitting basics can help open career choices such as becoming a solar panel installer, retrofit coordinator, and electric vehicle charge point (EVCP) installer.

What will you learn?

Building fabric
Key concepts of retrofitting
Domestic retrofit materials and processes.
Overview of installation methods for walls, roofs, floors, windows and doors.
Health and safety – identifying and reporting issues and risks

Practical information

The course is delivered and accredited by Capital City College Group.
Week 1 and 2 will be in-person at the Green Skill Hub, Holloway Park, Parkhurst Road, N7 0NU
Week 3 will be in-person at CONEL, Tottenham Centre, High Road, N15 4RU

Week 1 & 2 : Monday to Friday, 10am – 2pm

• Level 2 Understanding Domestic Retrofit.

Week 3: Monday to Friday, 10am – 2pm

• Level 1 Health and Safety in a Construction Environment.
• Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) preparation and test.

Eligibility and Delivery

The course is open to all Islington residents and a few Camden residents over 19. We strongly encourage female applicants.
