For over 20 years Penn Road Residents’ Association have held their annual Party in the Park, a local community event in Penn Road Gardens with an average attendance of over 150. This year we were delighted to attend and volunteer at the drinks stand. Peabody also offered a contribution towards the prizes on offer on the day.
Penn Road is a quiet, tree-lined street in Holloway, north London. Built between 1865 and 1870, it runs between Caledonian Road and Hillmarton Road, with a small public open space, at one end and St Luke’s Church at the other. Their residents’ association was formed in May 1997.
Penn Road have a communal gardening session on the last Sunday of each month, and you can see the residents efforts in the gardens as they were looking lovely for the party. If you are interested in getting involved with their gardening please contact them to find out more chair.pennroad@gmail.com
The Gardens offered the perfect setting for this open event for residents of Penn Road and the wider local area, with stalls, children’s activities, food, music, a raffle and more. More details about this residents group can be found on their website Penn Road Residents’ Association | Community Gardening | Penn Road, London, UK (pennroadn7.com)
