Meet Anda – Building Her Future at Holloway Park

Anda is a Logistics Operative & Hoist driver working with Pure Logistics at Holloway Park. Before taking on her current position, she worked as a Welfare Operative and later as a Welfare Supervisor, gaining valuable on-site experience that helped shape her career in construction.

When asked why she chose construction, Anda explains, “The money is good, every day is different, and it’s fast-paced. You’re always learning something new.” She joined Pure Logistics two years ago and proudly shares that she was the company’s first employee, something she finds deeply rewarding.

Her days typically begin with morning team briefings, followed by site walks where she checks skips, fire points, and other safety measures around her block. She also operates the hoist, ensuring materials and people move safely and efficiently throughout the day.

Anda is currently studying for her NVQ Level 5 in Assistant Site Management, with the goal of progressing into a Site Manager role in the future. She enjoys the hands-on, fast-paced nature of site life and is passionate about growing within the industry.

Working in a male-dominated environment doesn’t faze her. “Honestly, I enjoy it,” she says. “Men are easier to work with — simpler, I’d say! But Holloway Park is different from other sites because there are a lot of women here, and we all support each other.”

Like many working parents, Anda has faced her share of challenges. English is not her first language, but she’s improving every day by communicating with her colleagues on site. She also balances her career as a single mum, which hasn’t always been easy. Still, her determination and positive outlook keep her moving forward.

One of Anda’s proudest moments came when her daughter visited her at work. “She met my team and saw me in action,” Anda recalls. “She’s studying civil engineering and seeing me at work made me so happy. I felt proud to be a role model for her.”

Anda is quick to acknowledge those who have supported her journey, expressing gratitude to Jude and Barry from Pure Logistics for helping her gain qualifications and providing her with opportunities to grow. Outside of work, she enjoys travelling, spending time in nature, and being with her family.

Anda’s story reflects the spirit of growth, perseverance, and passion that drives so many people in construction. From being Pure Logistics’ first employee to working her way up toward management, she’s a shining example of how hard work and commitment can turn opportunity into achievement.
